The Haunted House Grand Finale
Chapter 1
Bang!
Crash! “Aaaaaaaaargh,” I shrieked, as I heard a big crashing sound, “what on
earth was that?”
By the way,
my name is Jake Ruthford, I have a sister called Katelyn and I have a friend
called Charlie Stevenson. I’m 12, Charlie’s 12 and Katelyn’s 10, but Charlie
and I are almost 13 and Katelyn is almost 11.
It’s just a few weeks until all
of our birthdays arrive, they come around pretty quickly.
We all decided to
move into this new neighbourhood, because our old house was haunted and so was
Charlie’s, but I’m starting to think that instead of moving into a haunted
house, we’ve moved into a haunted neighbourhood! I hope I haven’t, but at this
moment that’s what it feels like now.
“Hello,”
I asked, as I looked around, “Katelyn, mum, dad, are you there?”
It was
hopeless, all the lights had gone out and no one seemed to be around. I tried
to call Charlie for help, but he didn’t seem to be around either.
They were
here a few minutes ago, but after some bang and crash noise, they all
disappeared. It was very weird, as the whole neighbourhood seemed to be really
dark outside, even though it was the middle of summer.
The sun usually goes
down at about 9:00p.m., but it’s very dark outside. I don’t get why such
strange things happen so often.
Suddenly,
there seemed to be something glowing outside.
I decided to go outside and have
a look. It was very hot outside. Here, the temperature can get up to 59 degrees
Celsius, but the temperature today was about 44 degrees Celsius.
The object
that was glowing looked orange and round. It kind of looked like a massive orb,
but it wasn’t floating, instead it was standing top of a small column, which
was about a metre high.
Some other people were also coming out of their houses,
to see what was happening in the middle of the street.
I seemed to recognise
all of those people, it feels like I’ve seen and known them before. Like I said
a while ago, everything seems to be strange.
“Hi,” I
replied, as I walked up to all the people, “have we seen each other before because
I’m pretty sure I have seen you before, maybe a very long time ago.”
“Yes,”
one of them replied, “we have seen you before. All of us here are neighbours
and we have had some pretty wild experiences with haunted houses and Vipor, the
poltergeist.
He’s a very evil poltergeist and he said he wanted to destroy us
all, so we formed a group together and when the day he returns comes, we will
attack him and chase him away for good.”
“I also
know this poltergeist called Vipor and I think that’s why I know all you guys,”
I replied.
“Well
then,” he replied, “I guess you could join our group if you wanted to.”
“Of
course I will join you guys,” I exclaimed, “I really wanted to get revenge on
that evil Vipor too.”
“I’ll
introduce you to all the people here,” he exclaimed, “I am Declan Thompson and
these are my twin sisters Jackie and Katelyn. I am 12, Jackie and Katelyn are
both 10.
This is Jackie Caldwell and her little sister Annie. Jackie is 12 and
Annie is just a few months younger than her.
Then there are Jackie’s friends:
Marley, Lucy and Kathie and all three of them are 12. They’re all the people
here to meet!”
“I am Jake
Ruthford and I have a little sister called Katelyn and a friend called Charlie
Stevenson,” I replied, “can they join this group as well?”
“Sure,”
Declan replied, “where are they both?”
“That’s the
big problem,” I exclaimed, as I quickly remembered the horrifying moment they
all disappeared at once, “they have all disappeared at once when I heard a bang
and a crash!”
“I bet
this is the work of that evil poltergeist Vipor,” Declan roared, as he was
enraged with fury and shaking his fist wildly in the air as he spoke, “you will
pay for all of this Vipor and I know you will.
We will all hunt you down and we
will destroy you for good so that you can never come back into this world
again!”
