The Haunted House Grand Finale. chapter 4 and 5

Chapter 4

When I had woken up and when everyone had woken up, everything was calm and quiet like it was earlier, before all of this started. We started looking for the chest and this time we finally found it.

It was hidden amongst two drawers and it was against the wall. Inside the chest was an old piece of paper that had the reasons to why Vipor had become an evil poltergeist and there was also an old map pointing to a hidden room.

On the map, it said that Vipor was hiding a secret inside this room and the room was buried deep underground, but there was a hidden maze, leading to a hidden stairway that would lead to the room.

“We have to find this room now,” Declan shouted, as he pumped his fist with plenty of enthusiasm,

“we have to find his secret and destroy him for good! Destroy him that he can’t come back to here again!”

“All in favour,” I shouted firmly, as everyone put their hands up, “right, let’s begin finding the room now!”

Everyone started walking downstairs and starting the big search. We all looked behind cupboards, large picture frames, doors and basically all of that kind of stuff.

We had all split up into small groups and kept searching, which was mainly behind bookshelves, but we found nothing, not a single thing.

About half an hour later…..

I know it was a very long time, but someone had finally found something and it was a very good thing. “Guys,” Annie yelled excitedly, “I found a secret tunnel!”

Everyone went over toward the tunnel. It was still really hot outside and inside the house, everyone was sweating very badly, but everyone was relieved when they felt the coolness of the tunnel against their faces, mostly me.

“I think this tunnel leads to that maze we were talking about on the map,” Annie shouted, “I hope it does lead to the maze!”

Everyone started walking through the hard and stony path that was slowly declining in elevation.

About a quarter of an hour later…..

The path finally stopped at a very large maze that seemed to go on forever. It seemed impossible to go through, but I still thought we would still be able to pass through it somehow.

Suddenly, Katelyn squealed and shrieked as something fuzzy and terribly itchy was crawly speedily across her face…..

Chapter 5

“Eeeeeeeeeeek,”

Katelyn squealed, as she was trying to knock a large spider, which was crawling all over her, off her.

This was the second time a spider had jumped on Katelyn, “somebody get this spider off me!”

After a few minutes, Katelyn had finally flicked the spider off her and there was a gate in front of them that couldn’t be unlocked.

Everyone was trying to pull the gate open, in hopes that the lock would break, since the gate and the lock looked like they were hundreds of years old, but the gate didn’t even budge, not a single bit. It was like the gate was frozen.

After a while of trying to open the gate, Marley, fell back and stepped on a pressure plate, which immediately pushed a block of stone above the surface and on that block of stone, was a golden key.

The key didn’t look like it was so old, since it was shiny and clean, but it probably was really old. Marley tried the key on the lock on the gate and immediately, the gate flung open and with a large creaking sound which made everyone cover their ears, since it was so loud.

Everyone walked inside and started talking about how they would go through the maze, since it looked impossible to pass through.

“How on earth are we supposed to get through this maze,”

Kathie asked, as she tried to look for the end of the maze, “we can’t even see the end of it, so how will we get through it?”

“I don’t know how,” I replied, as I was fiddling with a small stone, “we’ll just have to find out when we are in the maze.”

Everyone started to walk down the first path of the maze they could see, of course everyone thought it would soon be a dead end, but still, they couldn’t see the end of the path, or any sign of another path anywhere.

About three quarters of an hour later…..

We finally came across something, after a very long walk along a straight path. Everyone was really tired and what we saw made us very glad, mostly including me, since my throat seemed like it was a desert inside it and my tongue was so dry, that it was really stiff.

Right in front of us was a huge water fountain that was filled with many litres of water. We could all finally have a drink after many long hours and we could finally fill up our drink bottles, which didn’t even have a single drop of water in them.

After we had all filled up out drink bottles and of course, had a drink, we all left the fountain area and started walking.

After a fair distance of walking along the path, a few of us at first, but then all of us, heard the sound of evil laughter coming from behind us and the sound of a furious wind and the sound of thunder and lightning crashing…..

Dear Jones House,

My name is Lasith Kulasekara and I'd like to talk about
my passion today and I'd also like to talk to you about
some things that are about me.

First of all, my family and I are from Sri Lanka and we came to
Adelaide when I was around 2 years old. Just before that, my
family and I lived in Norway for about 1 1/2 years.

Then 5 years later we came here, to Bendigo.
Later on, we became citizens in Australia and Sri Lanka.

Now I'd like to talk about my passion. In my spare time, I do paintings at home.
I also write stories for Scribe Young Writers Club.
I'd like to be a scientist or doctor when I'm older and
I'd also like to be an artist and write stories as well.

Here are some acrylic paintings that I've been doing recently.....

I got into painting pictures last year, in 2015, when I went to one
watercolour workshop for the whole day, at my previous school,
which was St' Therese's Primary School.

The artist, who was from Bendigo,
who leads that workshop was called Terry Jarvis. We had done a plan on
a watercolour painting that we were going to do later in the day.

After that class, I decided to try out watercolour painting at home, so
I asked my parents and they bought me a watercolour kit.

So over about a month one month period, I did lots of watercolour paintings.
Then, at school, we did some acrylic painting and I enjoyed it a lot.

I decided to try it out at home and then I got even more into it.
Next, I decided to do a bit of landscape art and
I liked it the most, so that's how I got into painting.

Finally I'll talk about something no one knows about me.
Something no one knows about me is that
I was born in a city called Kandy, in Sri Lanka.

Thank you for listening!
