The House of Scary Ghosts and Skeletons

By: Lasith Kulasekara (2013)

Once upon a time, in a dark cellar lived 6 ghosts and 4 Skeletons.
“What shall we do tonight?” said Skeleton 1.
“I know, let’s get our scary monster book and look for monsters that we have not seen before,” said Skeleton 4.
“Come on guys, let’s go,” said Ghost 2.
They went up the dark staircase to the dark street. The skeletons were flying on top of the ghosts. They were looking for a big, three eyed alien. The skeletons and ghosts didn’t know what it looked like.

“We’ve entered a small city,” said Ghost 4.
“There is the alien that we’ve been looking for,” said Skeleton 2.
“Let’s take a photo,” said Ghost 4.
Let’s go home, print this photo and put it in our book of scary monsters,” said Ghost 2.
Where’s our house?” said Skeleton 3.
“I don’t know,” said Skeleton 1.
They kept on going.
They decided to scare someone.
“Roar!” said Skeleton 4.
“Aaargh!” said Jacob and Nick.
“What’s your name?” said Ghost 1.
“Mine’s Jacob,” said Jacob.
Mine’s Nick,” said Nick.
 “Bye,” said Nick and Jacob.
“Bye,” said the ghosts and skeletons.
“Look, there’s our house on the other side of the road,” said Ghost 6.
“It’s almost morning, we’ve got to go to sleep,” said Ghost 5.
We’re nocturnal,” said Skeleton 4.
They went to sleep. During the day, many people, buses, cars, vans, trucks, bikes and scooters went past their house.
At dusk, when the sun was setting and the moon was rising the amount of vehicles and people were getting lower and the ghosts and skeletons woke up at 6:30pm.
“What shall we do tonight?” said Ghost 5.
“I know, let’s go to the park,” said Skeleton 1.
What shall we do in the park?” said Skeleton 3.
I know, let’s play on the swings,” said Ghost 4.

They all played on the swings. A person, a child and a dog came into the park. The skeletons sprayed the dog and the child with skeleton spray. After a while the dog and the child were skeletons.
“The dog and the child are on our team,” said Skeleton 4 and Ghost 6.

What’s your name?” said Ghost 3.
“My name is Arabelle and this is my pet dog Browser,” said Arabelle.
When they got home they saw a picture of Mt Alan, which was an inactive volcano on the wall. They looked at the time; it was 9:05pm.
“Let’s go to Mt Alan,” said Skeleton 5.
They went up the dark staircase and flew out to the dark street. Mt Alan was 53km away from their house. After 10km they went through a big city.
“We’re almost at Mt Alan,” said Ghost 6.
“Then let’s hurry up,” said Arabelle.
“There’s Mt Alan,” said Skeleton 4.
“Let’s take a picture and write facts about it,” said Skeleton 1.
They took a picture and wrote 10 pages of facts about it.
“Let’s go home,” said Skeleton 2.
There was 53km.

”That was a long trip,” said Skeleton 3.
“Look at the time its 6:35am, we’ve got to go to sleep,” said Ghost 3.
While they were sleeping many cars, trucks, people, bikes, scooters, vans, buses, jeeps and taxis went past their house. When the ghosts and skeletons woke up they realised that this night was a busy night. They had to clean the floor, dust the dust and scrub the roof. They were finished in time.
“That’s a lot of hard work,” said Arabelle.
“It is,” said Skeleton 2.
It was midnight when they looked at the clock.
“I think we’d rather have a rest after all this hard work,” said Skeleton 4.
They had a big rest.

THE END!

The Haunted House III

Chapter 1

“Aaaaaaaargh!” I shrieked, as I heard a loud bang, “What was that?”
I was watching a horror movie, when I heard that sound. “Annie?” I called, “Was that you?”

No reply. I crept up the stairs, as they creaked beneath me. I didn’t hear a sound and there were no lights on in Annie’s room. “Boo!” Annie shouted, as I stumbled back, “Gotcha Jackie!”

By the way, my name is Jackie Caldwell and I have a little sister called Annie. I’m 12 and Annie’s just a few months younger than me. We also have a pet dog called Buster. He’s a big and friendly German Shepherd. He likes to bark a lot, but he never bites.

Now back to the story. After a while, we decided to go to bed since it was late. Mum and dad weren’t back yet so we had stayed up late. I was really excited that Halloween was tomorrow. Every Halloween, I go trick-or-treating around the block, with my friends. We always come back with bags full of lollies. So I decided to get a good night’s sleep, to be ready for Halloween!

Chapter 2

“Aaaaaaah!” I yawned, as I warily got out of bed.

It was a bright sunny day and the sunlight was pouring in through the curtains. I decided to go down for breakfast. For breakfast, I had some cereal. Since Annie wasn’t up yet, I decided to keep working on my costume. This Halloween, I was dressing up as a witch. I think one of my friends, is also dressing up as a witch.

Half a day later…

I was adding the finishing touches to my costume, when my friends turned up. My friends names are: Marley, Lucy and Kathie. “Hi guys!” I exclaimed, as I worked carefully with the costume.
“Sup Jackie!” Marley exclaimed, “You ready to go?”
“Yeah,” I replied.

We walked along the neighbourhood streets, like we always do, but then Lucy suggested that we should go to the next block. “Let’s go to the next block guys!” Lucy suggested as she looked through her candy, “We always trick-or-treat on this block!”
“Yeah,” Kathie agreed, “I agree.”

It was then that the trouble started…

Chapter 3

We started walk through the streets of the other block, when we noticed something very odd about it. The neighbourhood seemed to be quite dark and the only thing that lit it up was the pale orange glow of the Jack O’ Lanterns. There were hundreds of Jack O’ Lanterns and the neighbourhood seemed to go on forever.

After a while, our bags were full and we became really tired. The people here seemed to give a lot more candy than the people in our neighbourhood. We didn’t feel like we wanted to stop, but then we hit this strange house, which was hidden away by the trees and shrubs that were leaning over the house.

We slowly walked up to the door and knocked. We waited for a while, but no one came. We knocked again and a strange woman opened the door. “Trick-or-treat!” I exclaimed, as the woman gave us candy.
“Now you must come inside!” she exclaimed as she held the door open for us, “I have a quest for you!”
“Who are you?” Lucy asked curiously, “What do you want?”
“You are my guests,” she replied pleasantly, “I have been waiting for you to come!”

Now I was confused, how could she be waiting for us to come? Anyway, we decided to go inside, since she seemed like a kind woman. “Come sit down,” she stated, “I have some cookies and a cup of tea for all of you.”

She got us some cookies and a cup of tea for each of us, but when I looked back toward her, she had a strange, mean looking grin on her face.

Chapter 4

We had the food, but then she got us to come to a weird, tiny room, which was filled with books and bottles. She looked like she was about to do something quite nasty and evil. “Come sit down guys!” she exclaimed with the same evil grin on her face, “I have something to tell you!”

We sat down around the table, since there was nothing else we could do. Then she opened up a secret cabinet and pulled out a huge, heavy cauldron. She placed the heavy cauldron onto the stove and lit the fire. Uh-oh, I thought, I never should have trusted her!

“Mwahahahaha!” she yelled at the top of her lungs, “You should have never trusted me fools, I’m a witch! But now it’s too late for you!”

Chapter 5

At this stage, there was nothing we could do! We were trapped with an evil witch, who was ready to attack. I always thought witches were fantasy, but now I was face to face with a real one! “Help!” we cried helplessly, “Somebody help us please!”

It was no use. We were trapped and no one could hear us. I had to think of a way to get out of this and now! “I’m going to teleport all of you into a different world!” she shouted; “Now stay still, you’re going to have a great time with your friend Vipor!”
“Oh no!” Kathie yelled, “Not Vipor!”
“Yes Vipor!” she boomed.

Before we knew it, we were somewhere else. It all looked the same, but it was a parallel universe. We were in the same neighbourhood back at my house, how strange. We knew that we would soon face the dreadful things Vipor had planned!

We all walked along the road until we reached of what seemed to be an abandoned cemetery. It was freezing cold outside and the fog clouds were beginning to roll in. It was then that we got separated from each other. “Hello?” I called, “Marley, Lucy, Kathie where are you?”

I was desperate to find them. How could we have gotten separated like that? I guess this cemetery must be enormous. It was so dark and gloomy, I couldn’t see a thing. From the stillness of the night, I heard some kind of weird voice and it seemed to be speaking to me! “Jackie!” the voice rasped, “Jackie I’m coming for you!”

By now I was shaking all over, partly from the creepy voice and partly from the coldness of the night. “Wh-who are y-you?” I stammered, staggering back in fear as the fog tightened around me.
“I am Simon!” the voice hissed.

Suddenly, an arrow hit the wall behind me and a nasty looking figure jumped out of nowhere. As I nimbly, staggered back, I turned around and started running as fast as I could. The figure started chasing me through the creepy, old cemetery. I thought I heard moaning sounds, rising up from the tilted gravestones, but I had no time to focus on that!

Before I knew it, I was falling down an enormous pit, falling down into the blackness of it. “Aaaaaaaaargh!” I wailed helplessly, as I tried to get hold of something.

Chapter 6

Luckily, I landed in some water and I pulled myself out. I saw an old, creepy tunnel leading into deep blackness. I searched my pocket and I found a small torch. Luckily, it had batteries in it. I walked through the tunnel and I saw some nice paintings on the stone walls as I passed.

10 minutes later…

The tunnel leads to a dead end! I was so shocked that I almost threw back my torch. I leaned against the wall in disappointment, but then a secret tunnel opened up.

At once, I thought I heard a voice calling for help. I listened again and I did hear someone calling for help, it was coming from deep inside the tunnel. “Help!” someone called, “Please save us now!”
“I’m coming!” I yelled, as I cupped my hands.

As I got closer, the voices seemed to sound familiar. Yes, they were my friend’s voices. When I saw what had been done to them, I was completely shocked.

Chapter 7

They were all tied up against a post, next to a cauldron of boiling water, which was still on the stove. “Help us!” they called desperately, “Please save us Jackie!”
“Mwahahahahaha!” an unfriendly voice boomed, “I was must destroy your friends Jackie!”
“Wh-who are y-you?” I stammered, as I stood, perfectly petrified in shock.
“I am Simon!” Simon boomed, “I am the minion of Vipor!”
“Oh no!” I yelled in panic, “Not Vipor!”
“Yes Vipor!” he shouted with an evil grin on his face, “I must destroy you all!”

He tried to grab us with his huge hand, but we ducked away. I swiftly untied Marley, Lucy and Kathie, since I was really good at untying knots. We started running down the empty tunnel, along the hard, stone floor as Simon chased us. My feet started throbbing, as we ran through the tunnel, but I saw some kind of portal as the tunnel was coming to an end. “We have to get through that portal!” Kathie yelled as she was gasping for breath, “It’s our only hope!”

As we neared the portal, we saw that there was an enormous hole between the portal and the tunnel ending. We jumped…

Chapter 8

I checked if everyone was here. Yes, we had all made it! Where were we? Everything looked the same as our neighbourhood and there were kids out playing on the streets as usual, so we were in the real world. I decided to go back home, since it was late afternoon and so did everyone else. Before we could leave, I heard a strange noise. “What was that?” I asked in a whisper.
“I don’t know,” Lucy answered, “What should we do?”

Before we could even move, a strange figure popped out of nowhere and blocked our path. “Mwahahahahaha!” a familiar voice laughed, “I see you have met my minion today!”
“You’re Simon!” I yelled angrily, “Aren’t you?”
“I’m Vipor and I’ve come to destroy you all!” he replied in his evil manner, “Since Simon couldn’t!”

This time, there was nothing we could do. No one else was around to help, so it was just us four and Vipor.

Just then, Simon appeared out of nowhere, carrying a huge blaster gun. “This blaster gun will make all four of you disappear forever!” Simon devilishly replied as he fired up the gun, “So you better watch out!”

Chapter 9

This was it; we were all about to be blasted away forever! As Simon pulled the trigger of the gun, he accidently blasted Vipor. He tripped and also got blasted by the gun. “Noooooooooo!” Vipor cried helplessly, “What have you done Simon?”

Vipor and Simon disappeared into thin air and the blaster gun was all that was left. “Hooray!” I yelled as I put my arms up in the air, “Vipor and Simon are both gone!”
“We need to take this blaster gun to a safe place,” Marley replied as she cautiously approached the gun, “If someone accidently presses a button, they could end up in big trouble.”

As Marley, Lucy and Kathie carried the blaster gun to a safe place, I walked home. “See ya’ guys!” I shouted, as I waved goodbye. “Bye Jackie!” they shouted, as they waved to me.

When I got back home, I opened the door and sat down on the couch. What a day it had been, I said to myself, as I was lying on the couch. Annie was in her bedroom and mum and dad weren’t back yet, so I turned on the TV.

“Jackie!” a familiar voice rasped, “Jackie!”
“Who was that?” I asked fearfully, turning off the TV.
“Welcome back Jackie!” the voice hissed, “I am coming for you!”

Vipor is back again, but this time he has a special minion called Simon, working for him. Why is Simon stalking Jackie and her friends on Halloween night? Find out when you read about this exciting new adventure…

The Haunted House I

I don’t want to believe it, but I think my house is haunted! I’m not surprised, since we live next to a cemetery. As soon as I moved in, about a year ago, I knew something creepy would come from over there and bother us.

There are a few reasons that I can tell my house is under the spell of a poltergeist. For one thing, my basement is totally dark and scary, especially at night. Just the other day, I was doing my homework in my room, when suddenly I heard moaning and whispers. And then the room started to grow cold and I could feel my spine tingling. Nobody else was nearby, so I was totally scared. The whispers sounded so real! So I pulled out my cell phone and called my best friend, Charlie.

I exclaimed, “Come over to my house. I think my house is haunted by a poltergeist!”

My best friend, Charlie got so freaked out that he decided to come over and help me investigate. We decided to have a look at the basement, since that’s where it’s mostly been happening. The basement sure was creepy. We didn’t want to go down there at first, but we decided to go after a while. But we found no clues in the basement, so we searched through the attic. We listened and waited for sounds, but we still had no clues.

“Well, looks like there isn’t anything wrong here,” Charlie replied, looking quite disappointed.
“Wait, what’s that sound coming from my room?” I asked, curiously.
“It sounds like someone is whispering, this is quite creepy,” he replied, shaking a little bit.

By the way, my name is Jake Ruthford and my friend’s name is Charlie Stevenson. I have a little sister called Katelyn. I’m 12, Charlie’s 12 and Katelyn is 10.

Now back to the story. We rushed toward the sound and found absolutely nothing! I was so shocked to find nothing! No clue that there had been a ghost. Since my house was built in the 1790’s, it could be haunted. What we didn’t know, was it was about to get a lot worse.

Chapter 2

Charlie and I watched a horror movie about werewolves for a while, but then he had to go home. Katelyn had just come back from one of her friend’s birthday parties and she was in her room chatting with her friends, I guess. Mum and dad are having a night out, so Katelyn and I are the only ones in the house.

So I decided to go into my room and play a video game for a while. I played for an hour or so, but then I heard a really loud bang!
“Aaaarrrgh!” I shrieked in terror, the sound made me jump.
“Jake, what’s going on?” Katelyn asked, curiously, as she rushed up to my room.
“I just heard a really loud bang that made me jump and scream, but I don’t know where it came from,” I replied, still feeling quite worried.

Just then, as Katelyn walked out of my room, mum and dad arrived. They called us to come down, for dinner. So Katelyn and I went down to have dinner. We had roast chicken, with vegetables and Brussels sprouts. We usually have roast chicken on Sunday, but I hated Brussels sprouts.
“Mum,” I groaned, “I don’t like Brussels sprouts.”
“Me neither,” Katelyn whined.
“It’s good for you,” Mum replied.
“Yeah,” Dad agreed.

After dinner, I brushed my teeth and got ready for bed. I got into bed and started to fall asleep, when a loud thud, coming from the corner of my room woke me up. “Uh-oh,” I whispered, quietly to myself.

Chapter 3

Suddenly, I saw some strange lights, looking like orbs, float up. Then my compass needle started spinning like crazy. “Whoa!” I uttered a startled cry, “Mom, dad, come up here quickly!”

“Son, what’s wrong?” Dad asked.
“I saw some strange lights and then my compass needle went crazy. I read that if your compass goes crazy, it means a poltergeist is nearby,” I replied, feeling quite scared.
“I don’t think anything is wrong,” Mum replied, “Even though our house is more than 210 years old!”

I went up to my room, since mom and dad didn’t believe me. If I told them more stories, I would probably have to go to the psychiatrist. But like before, the hauntings started up in my room. I knew I just had to look. Then a book almost hit me in the face. More objects were flying around the room like crazy. My room was totally under the spell of a poltergeist and I didn’t know what was going to happen next!

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgh!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, another book almost wacked me in the face, “Help me!”
“What’s wrong?” Mom and dad asked.
“Books flew toward my face!” I exclaimed. This time, even Katelyn was up now.
“Well this room is quite a mess, but I don’t think books would magically throw themselves at you,” Mom replied, quite shocked.
“We might need to take you to a psychiatrist!” Dad exclaimed, staring at me.
“But dad,” I whined.

Well it was no use arguing, so I just went to my room. I called Charlie, to tell him about what happened. He was very shocked when he heard about what happened. Then we decided to talk tomorrow morning. I got into bed and started to fall asleep. I fell asleep quite quickly, it didn’t  take long at all. The good thing was, nothing creepy happened tonight.

I woke up quite early in the morning, even though mum and dad were in the dining room getting ready to have breakfast.
“Good morning, son!” Dad exclaimed, quite cheerfully.
“Good morning mum and dad,” I replied.

We had toast and cereal for breakfast. Soon after Katelyn came down for breakfast. I watched some TV for a while, but then I decided to continue my conversation with Charlie.
“Hi Charlie, can I come over to your house so we can talk about what happened in the past few days?” I asked eager to go over to his house
“Sure thing, you can come right now!” he answered, happily.

“Mom, can I go over to Charlie’s house?” I asked.
“Um, ok you can, but don’t stay too long!” she answered.
“I want to go over to my friend’s house too!” she yelled, “It’s not just Jake who gets to go everywhere!”

Most of the time, she’s nice. But sometimes, she can be quite annoying. Well little sisters are little sisters.

Chapter 4

I arrived at Charlie’s house so that we could get this poltergeist finished with. I still had no clue who it was, or what it wanted.
“Sup Charlie!” I exclaimed.
“Sup Jake!” he replied.
“So let’s make plans on how we can stop this!” he replied.
“At my house there have been books flying around my room and my compass needle went psyche!” I exclaimed, feeling a little bit worried.
“Maybe we should catch it!” he replied.

We kept chatting for a while, but then I had to go. Half a day later…

It was starting to get dark now. It was a warm autumn afternoon. A little bit breezy, but quite warm. Dad did some lawn mowing outside and he decided to come in, since it was getting dark. I watched some TV before mum and dad called Katelyn and me to come down for dinner.
“What’s for dinner tonight, mum?” Katelyn asked, eager to know.
“Tonight we are having spaghetti bolognaise,” mum replied.
“Yay!” I shouted, with a big smile on my face.

After dinner, I went to my room and talked with Charlie, again. We talked about how the poltergeist wasn’t coming anymore and how I was so happy about it. I thought the poltergeist was gone for good.

But I was very wrong…

Chapter 5

I started to fall asleep, with happy thoughts about the poltergeist being gone for good. ‘Aaaaah, so lovely now!’ I thought to myself.

Suddenly, a very strange sound woke me up. I couldn’t work out what the sound was. Bang! Bang! Bang! I was now shuddering in fright. The curtains blew around and my compass needle, once again went psyche.
“Wh-Whos there?” I stammered, trembling with fear.

No answer. The room suddenly grew quiet, but I couldn’t go to sleep. I started to calm down and fall asleep, when a thunderous roar filled my room!
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, hoping that Amy would come.

I was so shocked; I was the only one inside the house.
“I am coming for you,” a deep voice rasped, “Hehehehehee!”
“Wh-Who are y-you?” I stammered, shaking with fear.
“You know who I am,” the voice continued to rasp, devilishly.

At first I was confused, but then I clearly remembered who he was. He was Vipor, the evil poltergeist I had met in my previous life. Now here he was, ready to attack, after many years!

“Uh-oh, y-your V-Vipor, aren’t y-you?” I stammered, getting a chill of fear down my spine.
“Yes, that is me,” Vipor hissed, with an evil grin on his face.

I could see what was going to happen next was not very exciting…

Chapter 6

“We meet again, after many, many years,” Vipor hissed, harshly, “But this time, I’m going to destroy you for good, Jake!”

If only I didn’t go out on Halloween night and discover that creepy, old mansion, in my previous life, this never would’ve happened. But now it’s too late, I just had to face Vipor and whatever he had planned.

He began to change his form. From a normal looking ghost, to a hideous monster. He began to cast a fireball in his hands. This was the most terrifying thing that ever happened to me. There was nothing I could do at this point. I just stood frozen in horror, not moving or speaking.

“Time for you to die!” he rasped nastily, holding the fireball firmly.
“Well, have a piece of this!” I yelled, as I heaved a chair toward him.

The chair burst into flames when it hit him, as he reignited his flaming fury. I could see he was completely covered in flames. He threw the fireball which he had been holding for a while, at me. I ducked, as the fireball hit the curtain and the curtains lit on fire. He threw more fireballs at me; now about half my room was on fire. There was only one corner I could go into. So I just kept moving slowly into that corner of the room, as he crept closer and closer.

Chapter 7

Just then, Katelyn rushed into my room with a fire extinguisher and sprayed Vipor with it. She had being watching what was happening all along.
“Help me!” Vipor shrieked in horror, “I will have my revenge on you two!”
“Hahahahahaha!” we both laughed, as he disappeared into ashes on the floor.

I was so happy to be alive! So joyous that Katelyn had saved me! Somehow, after Vipor disappeared, my room went back to normal.
“Oh Katelyn!” I thanked her, “Thank you so much!”
“My pleasure,” she replied.

I phoned Charlie about how Katelyn saved me from Vipor, the poltergeist. He was so happy to know that it was all over and so was I!

Well that’s about my entire story, I’ll see all you folks later. Uh-oh, did I just hear something strange? Yes, I heard a faint, raspy, evil voice.
“Jake, I’m coming for you!” the unfamiliar voice rasped devilishly, “Mwahahahahaha! Mwuahahahahaha! Awoooooo!”
Yikes…

To The Haunted House ( Haunted house II)

Well this is a story about how I went to the scariest haunted house in the world and something terrible that happened. Even though it was meant to not really be haunted, some evil force has taken over!

“Yes!” I yelled, “We are finally going to McKamey Manor!”

I was so happy that we were going to McKamey Manor, the scariest haunted house in the world.

By the way, my name is Declan Thompson. I have two twin sisters, called Jackie and Katelyn. We have two hamsters called Ralphie and Gecko. I guess they named Gecko after me, since my nickname is Decko. Jackie is 10, Katelyn is 10 and I am 12.

Like you might have noticed, I’m a big fan of horror. I watch horror movies with my friends, every weekend! I’ve been to so many haunted houses, that they don’t seem to scare me at all. This time I was going on a trip to McKamey Manor!

Even though I love horror, Jackie and Katelyn don’t like it too much. In fact, Katelyn doesn’t like horror at all! Last time she watched a horror movie, she just hid behind a pillow. Once, she even started crying! Jackie is a fair bit into horror. She loves horror movies and stories, but she doesn’t like haunted houses. I guess some people like watching and reading stuff, but they don’t like reality.

My parents booked us in early, so we could visit sooner. Since the queue these days is up to 24,000, you have to book early! Otherwise it could take days, even weeks before you can visit. The average tour is supposed to last 2 hours, but most people chicken out after about 20 minutes. In fact, no one has ever completed the full tour, but I’m up for the challenge!

After dinner, I called my best friend, Tim. His full name is Timothy Baker. “Hi Tim!” I exclaimed joyously, “I have some very good news!”
“What is it Decko?” he asked.
“I’m going to McKamey Manor!” I yelled, jumping up and down.
“Whoa!” Tim replied in surprise, “Isn’t that place too scary?”
“Not for me!” I shouted.
“Well see you, then!” he exclaimed, “Have a nice trip!”

That night, I didn’t get to sleep quickly. I was way too excited about the trip. But I didn’t know what I was in for…

McKamey Manor

McKamey Manor is the scariest haunted house in the world. It has a queue of about 24,000 people. The tour takes 2 hours to complete, but people leave the house after about 20 minutes, The owner (Russ McKamey) was so shocked to have so many visitors. Some people book plane tickets just to go there! He said the house was built so people could have fun. McKamey Manor is described as a real life horror movie. Chapter 2

In the morning, I was up so early, that the sun wasn’t even close to coming up! After a while, Tim called me and said that he was going to McKamey Manor too!

When my family woke up, we had breakfast and it was time to go. Tim was all set. My family had booked a hotel to stay in, while Tim and I visited McKamey Manor.

Since we live in Manhattan, it wasn’t too long of a drive. By the time we were at the entrance, my heart was beating as loud as a base drum! “This is it!” Tim exclaimed, with a massive grin on his face.
“I hope this will be good,” I replied.
“Of course it will,” he replied, staring through the entrance.

We dashed through the entrance to find out what was next. The tour guide popped out from a room and came to greet us.
“Hello boys!” she exclaimed waving, “My name is Rachael Weaving and I’ll be your tour guide!”

She told us a couple of ghost stories about Alcatraz and haunted houses. Well we loved them. But the tour guide said that now we have to go in, so this is the fun part!

Chapter 2

To start off, it was just a tangle of wake weeds. As we walked through the heavily weeded area an actor popped out of the tangled shrubs. Whoa! This house was kind of creepy, I had to admit.

10 minutes later…

There were buckets of fake blood everywhere; we even had some on ourselves. I could hear the hiss of the pythons in the other room and I knew something was going to pop out of nowhere at any minute. Suddenly, an actor had caught us both in a bag and before we knew it, we were in one large box!

“What do we do n-now?” I stammered, shivering from the freezing temperature.
“I don’t know,” Tim whispered, “Maybe we should try breaking free.”
“Yeah,” I agreed, trying to find something that would help.

Just then, something hissed and I struggled to breathe. I started choking and gagging, so did Tim.
“Help us!” we shouted as loud as we could, “Help!”
“I don’t think it’s working!” he exclaimed, “We need to break free right now!”

This house is supposed to scare people, but this is ridiculous. I mean, why would someone want to choke you here, shouldn’t this be illegal? Just then the lid popped off. Tim and I, let out a huge sigh of relief. I guess they want to scare us to the max. Just then, I saw something moving around. A flashy figure. I saw it again; I could barely make it out through the darkness.
“Tim,” I replied shaking, “Did you see that weird figure?”
“I didn’t see it clearly,” Tim replied, “But I’m pretty confident that it wasn’t an actor.

Just then, something popped out of nowhere and landed right on us! Only this time, it wasn’t an actor! “Aaaaaaaaaargh!” we screamed, as something appeared from the darkness.

Chapter 3

Turns out it was just a paper towel. How did it get there? I looked around, but I didn’t see Tim anywhere.
“Tim!” I called, “Tim!”
“Tim!” I desperately called, “Where are you?”

It was no use. I had lost him and I was on my own. I had to find Tim and now! Where would I first look?

I searched around the room, in hopes that I would find some clue. I didn’t find any fingerprints or anything that had been dropped. I searched for about half an hour then I just about gave up when I heard a noise coming from the attic. Yes, I heard a voice and it sounded like Tim’s! “Tim,” I shouted, “Are you up there?”
“Mmmmm!” the voice called, “Mmmhmm!”
“I’m coming to get you!” I yelled, “Stay there!”

Turns out that Tim was trapped inside a cupboard in the attic. Wonder who put him there. Well this is a quite mysterious. Still, in a haunted house, they wouldn’t do these kinds of things. Suddenly, the same strange figure dashed past us. It kept darting back and forth through the dark, narrow passages. “Some kind of strange guy took me and wrapped me up!” he exclaimed,” Then he put me in that cupboard in the dusty attic!”
“Well we better find the exit and leave!” I replied, eager to go.
“Yeah,” he replied, “I’d be happy to go. This is enough fun for today.”
“Wait,” I replied in fear, “Where’s the exit?”
“Uh-oh!” Tim uttered, with fear.

We were trapped inside this creepy house. In some passageways it was pitch black. We searched the rooms for an exit and then we found a narrow, spiral staircase leading down. We decided to go down it, since it was our only choice. As we trudged down the stairs, the staircase got steeper and narrower. Suddenly, an icy, cold hand reached out of a hole and pulled us into some weird, small room.

Chapter 4

“Aaaaargh!” we screamed, as we were dragged into the room.
“Somebody help us!” I shouted helplessly.

This was definitely not like a haunted house, this was just plain terrifying! Suddenly, a face appeared in the wall. We just stood there watching, completely petrified. The face started to grow larger, as it was getting brighter.
“I am the poltergeist of this house!” a deep voice boomed, “I have taken over this house and no one shall escape!”
“W-Who are y-you?” Tim stammered, as I hid behind him.
“I am the great poltergeist Vipor!” he boomed.
“Let us go please,” I replied, trembling with fear.

He started to change his form. From a normal looking poltergeist to a flaming ghost. I was truly terrified now; he was completely covered in flames!
“I will destroy you forever!” he hissed nastily, “No one is leaving!”

He set the curtains ablaze with his flaming fury. He blocked the window with flames so that we couldn’t escape. He started to charge his hands, ready to blast fire. He released the fire and he missed. He tried to hit us with his fire but he missed. Now almost all the room was set ablaze. Just then, Russ McKamey bolted through the door and used a fire extinguisher to take away all the flames.
“You aren’t winning this time Vipor!” he shouted, as he sprayed all over Vipor.
“Yay!” we exclaimed joyously, “We are saved!”

Vipor was nothing but a pile of dust. “Russ, we owe you one!” we thanked him, joyously.
“It was nothing,” he replied, “Vipor attempts to take over this house all the time. He’s just one of those evil poltergeists.”
“Well we got to go now,” I replied waving, “See you!”

“Bye!” Russ exclaimed, as he walked away.

Chapter 5

“So Russ just left us in this house,” I replied.
“I guess we have to figure a way out of this house,” Tim whispered, sighing in pain.

We carefully looked around the passageways if there was a staircase to go down, but we didn’t find one. We came across a weird looking statue, it looked like a werewolf. It was probably part of this house. ”Declan,” an unfriendly voice rasped, “Come to me, Declan!”
“Huh?” I uttered I startled cry, “Tim. Was that you rasping?”
“Hehehehee!” the voice continued to rasp.
“Tim?” I called, “Tim where are you?”

This house was definitely creepy. Where was Tim and why the actors would take him like that. I had to find an answer to what was going on here now, but first I had to find Tim and get out of this house! If only there was a staircase.

I started to look around the passageways in hope for clues, but I found nothing. I sighed, this was useless. I would never get out of this mess by the looks of this. “You will be gone Declan!” the same evil voice rasped, “Hehehehehehee!”
“W-who are y-you?” I stammered, shaking endlessly.
“I am the poltergeist,” it rasped.

That voice kept on giving me shivers. Every time the voice talked, my spine would tingle in fear. “W-where is T-Tim?” I stammered, tucked in a corner of the room.
“He is with me!” the poltergeist rasped, “You will never get him now!”

Where was Russ, I needed him now! Surprisingly, a ball off fire came out of nowhere and hit the wall. I could hear the scratching of sharp claws, waiting to get hold of me. There was nothing I could do at this point. I was defenceless; I was going to be gone forever!

Chapter 6

It was Vipor; I couldn’t believe he was still alive after what Russ did to him! This was it, he was right in front of me now and I had nothing to use to attack him! An idea popped into my head, I could use the air compressor to defuse him. If only I could reach my hand to that switch. Uurrgh, I reached as far as I could. Yes, a stick! I grabbed the stick and flicked it. The air compressor puffed out some dust then it blew Vipor’s flames and he was gone. This time I hoped he was gone for good. “Noooooooooo!” Vipor cried helplessly as he disappeared, “I will vow my revenge!”

As I looked behind myself, I saw Tim standing right there. “Tim!” I called joyfully, “It’s so good to see you!”
“I didn’t know where I was,” Tim replied, “I was in a world of fire!”
“That must’ve been Vipor’s world,” I replied, “He must have other poltergeists living there.”
“Let’s find a way out now!” Tim exclaimed, yawning.
“You’re right,” I yawned, “Must be morning by now.”

Suddenly, a passageway opened up. I could see daylight coming through the tunnel. We followed the tunnel and my parents were waiting for us. “It’s so good to see you Declan!” my mother exclaimed, as she hugged me tightly.
“It’s so good to see you too mum!” I exclaimed.
“Well Tim’s parents will probably be waiting for him,” she replied, “So we better get going.”

We all hopped into the car and started driving along the highway. As we drove along the highway I heard a strange voice. “Hello Declan!” the voice rasped, “It’s good to see you!”
“Did anyone here that?” I asked, with a worried look on my face.
